(WNY News Now) – On Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 at the Labyrinth Press Company, Mike Bobseine announced his candidacy for New York State Assembly District 150, emphasizing the grassroots nature of his campaign.

Introduced by Chautauqua County Democratic Chair Marcia Westling Johnson, who highlighted his extensive experience across multiple fields, encompassing academia, the legislature, and the judicial system, Mike Bobseine gave a speech announcing his candidacy for District 150 of the State Assembly, a position currently held by Andy Goodell, who is not seeking reelection.

Bobseine’s fervor for women’s rights was a focal point of the event, with Westling Johnson noting his consistent encouragement of women running for office as well as his assistance in helping them achieve those goals.

One key point of Bobseine’s speech was regarding his belief that the district has lacked an assemblymember capable of cooperating with the legislature and Governor’s office and properly representing the district and its residents.

Bobseine reiterated his commitment to a grassroots campaign, pledging to cap donations to $250 per person, and refusing money that doesn’t originate from a real person, stating that they will refuse donations from lobbyists, political action committees, and special interests.
