(WNY News Now) – On the evening of March 8, 2024, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shoplifting incident at TJ MAXX on Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk. The suspect, a 47-year-old Dunkirk, NY, man attempted to flee but was apprehended, leading to the discovery of additional charges.
Deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded promptly to a reported shoplifting incident at TJ MAXX on Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk around 8:50 PM on March 8, 2024. Upon arrival, deputies were directed to a fleeing vehicle, successfully intercepting it before it could leave the parking lot.
Further investigation revealed the suspect as 47-year-old Raymond Santiago, a resident of Dunkirk. Santiago had allegedly taken merchandise from TJ MAXX without making a purchase. Additionally, Santiago was found to have multiple active warrants from various law enforcement agencies.
Raymond Santiago now faces charges of Burglary in the 3rd degree, Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd degree, and Petit Larceny. He has been remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail awaiting arraignment.
