Jamestown, NY – Craig M VanHook, a 34-year-old resident of Jamestown, was apprehended by the Jamestown Police Department for possession of significant quantities of controlled substances and a weapon during a routine street check on April 4th, 2024.
The incident unfolded at approximately 12:09 a.m. when officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon conducted a street check on Craig M VanHook in the vicinity of 328 Allen St. VanHook, who was identified as having an outstanding warrant from the Lakewood Busti Police Department, was found in possession of a substantial amount of illicit substances.
Upon searching VanHook, law enforcement discovered 40.1 grams of Methamphetamine, 18.5 grams of Fentanyl, and 21.0 grams of Cocaine HCL, Free Base, Crack. Additionally, VanHook was carrying a switchblade knife, Mannitol (a narcotic diluting agent), a large quantity of glassine envelopes used for narcotic packaging, and a digital scale containing suspected narcotic residue.
VanHook was promptly arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he remains in custody pending arraignment. He faces multiple charges, including three felonies for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Sub 1, Sub 7, Sub 12, a felony for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, and three misdemeanors for Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Sub 1, Sub 2, Sub 3.
The case is scheduled to be heard in Jamestown City Court, with VanHook’s status set as of the incident date.
