(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 29-year-old resident of Jamestown, is under investigation for assault, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance after an altercation with officers on Newland Ave/Broadhead Ave.

On April 22nd, at approximately 9:39 am, officers patrolling in the vicinity of Newland Ave/Broadhead Ave encountered Alvin J. Jusino, who was known to have an outstanding felony arrest warrant. Upon attempting to conduct a street check, Jusino reportedly fled on foot, prompting a brief pursuit. During the chase, Jusino allegedly grabbed a heavy-duty garbage can and threw it at an officer, striking them in the leg. Despite sustaining a laceration and pain to his left knee, the officer, with the assistance of colleagues, managed to subdue Jusino and take him into custody.

A subsequent search incident to arrest allegedly uncovered a small quantity of a white powdery substance, later identified as Fentanyl, in tin foil. Jusino was then transported to the Jamestown City Jail without further incident. In addition to the outstanding felony warrant, he now faces charges of Assault 2nd, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
