(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 59-year-old resident of Jamestown, was apprehended by officers on N Main St/ W 6th St on April 21, 2024, for outstanding felony warrants and possession of a controlled substance.

On the evening of April 21st, 2024, at approximately 9:39 pm, officers conducting routine patrol in the vicinity of N Main St/ W 6th St in Jamestown encountered Russell H. Rea Jr. Officers, aware of Rea’s active felony warrants issued by the Jamestown Police Department, promptly verified the warrants through dispatch and subsequently took Rea into custody.

During a search conducted following the arrest, officers allegedly discovered a quantity of glassine envelopes containing Fentanyl on Rea’s person. As a result, Rea was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree in addition to the initial felony arrest warrant.

Currently, Rea is being held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court.
