(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – In the early hours of April 23, 2024, Jamestown City police officers intervened in a domestic dispute at a south side address, resulting in the arrest of a 25-year-old woman for violating a stay-away order of protection.

At approximately 12:11 am, officers from the third platoon were dispatched to the scene following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that Dominique Z Barr had breached a court-issued stay-away order. Despite Barr’s departure prior to the officers’ arrival, law enforcement located them nearby.

During the encounter, Barr allegedly attempted to evade arrest by walking away and subsequently assaulted one of the responding officers by punching them in the chest. Following the altercation, Barr was promptly taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

The charges brought against Barr include Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, reflecting the violation of the court order, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, relating to the resistance encountered during the arrest process.

As of the latest update, Barr remains held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court, where further legal proceedings will take place.
