(WNY News Now – Syracuse, NY – On Tuesday night, two young males sustained injuries in a shooting incident on Oakwood Avenue, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Shortly before 11:00 P.M. on April 30th, 2024, authorities received reports of gunfire in the 100 block of Oakwood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the hip and a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the leg. Both victims were promptly transported to Upstate Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment and are expected to recover.
The scene revealed multiple shell casings, indicating a significant exchange of gunfire. The Syracuse Police Department has initiated an active investigation into the incident and urges anyone with pertinent information to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
