(WNY News Now) – Amidst an alleged domestic altercation in the early hours of May 6, 2024, a local man finds himself in legal turmoil, facing charges of Criminal Contempt 1st, Aggravated Criminal Contempt, and Assault 3rd.

Responding to a distress call at an East Side address at approximately 1:50 AM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department intervened in a domestic dispute involving Charles H. Karr Jr, aged 49. Allegations suggest Karr punched the victim, resulting in physical harm, before absconding from the scene. However, law enforcement swiftly apprehended Karr, discovering him concealed in nearby foliage. Following his capture, Karr was promptly transferred to Jamestown City Jail, where he awaits arraignment. The charges brought against Karr include Criminal Contempt 1st, Aggravated Criminal Contempt, and Assault 3rd, shedding light on the severity of the incident.
