(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 35-year-old Jamestown/Rochester resident, was remanded without bail following a police operation resulting in the discovery of illegal firearms and controlled substances.

At approximately 1:20 pm on May 5th, 2024, members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, alongside the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at 312 E 6th Street Upper Apartment in Jamestown. Bruce J. Miles, also known as “Magic,” was found alone inside the residence. A search allegedly yielded a sawed-off and defaced shotgun, contraband for Miles, a four-time convicted felon prohibited from firearm possession.

Miles faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree for possession of ten Suboxone Sublingual Films. Following his arrest, Miles was held without bail and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending a Preliminary Hearing, due to his previous felony convictions. The Jamestown Police Department received support from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department, and Jamestown Fire Department during the operation.
