(WNY News Now) – Sheridan, NY – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responds to a motor vehicle accident on Rt20 in Sheridan, leading to the arrest of a 60-year-old man for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and other charges.

On May 12, 2024, at approximately 4:42 PM, deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office rushed to investigate a disabled vehicle on Rt20 in Sheridan. Joseph A. Pisa II of Sheridan was found involved in a single motor vehicle accident.

Following a brief inquiry, law enforcement concluded that Pisa was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Consequently, Pisa, aged 60, was taken into custody. He now faces charges of DWI and Moving from Lane Unsafely, according to the Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) sections 1192(3) and 1128(a) respectively. Pisa is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheridan Court at a later date to address these charges.
