(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that a 40 -year-old resident of Kenmore, NY, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. 

Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who is handling the case, stated that in April 2020, Anthony V. Giambrone, a former teacher with Erie One BOCES working at Maryvale Intermediate School, possessed images of child pornography on two separate laptop computers. Giambrone possessed approximately 1,052 images and 381 videos of child pornography, some of which included prepubescent minors.

The plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia and the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, under the direction of Chief James Stauffiger.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 27, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. before Judge Arcara.
