Anastasia Sheldon and her partner Russell were left devastated by the fire at 71 Allen Street in Jamestown on May 26th, 2024, losing their home as well as their belongings.

Sheldon recounted the events of the fire. The discarded match that ignited the fire was in apartment 3, with the fire then spreading to apartment 4, leaving both units burned. The water used to extinguish the flames caused significant damage to the couple’s belongings.

Unfortunately, the tragedy did not stop with the flames. That which wasn’t damaged by the water was stolen in the aftermath. Sheldon recounts $500 worth of jewelry being stolen, in addition to a $500 Xbox One X, a $400 laptop, 2 Nintendo Switches, and old cell phones with treasured pictures of their family and pets that they have no means of getting back. Even the ashes of her deceased cat were stolen.

In response to this tragedy, Sheldon has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of recovery and to rebuild their lives. The link to the campaign is https://gofund.me/be162a41. At the time of publication, the couple has raised $345 of their $5,000 goal.

Residents and community members are encouraged to support and share the campaign to help the couple affected by this devastating event.
