On May 30, 2024, a high-speed pursuit on Route 16 in Yorkshire, NY, ended with the arrest of Zachery M. Burdic, 31, of Gowanda, NY. Deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Burdic for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle in the third degree and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in the third degree following an investigation into a stolen motorcycle in the Town of Ashford.
Deputies first spotted the stolen motorcycle traveling southbound on Route 240. When they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Burdic failed to comply, leading officers on a pursuit that concluded on Route 16 in Yorkshire. In addition to the primary charges, Burdic received multiple vehicle and traffic citations.
Burdic was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ashford Court at a later date.
