WNY News Now sat down with members of The Knights of Enchanted Dreams, a local non-profit, to hear their thoughts on their upcoming Pride Day celebration, which begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 8th, 2024.

Ronald Wood aka Sabrina White, Administrator, and Thelma Samuelson aka Sweet Pea, Communications Director, discussed the karaoke night the organization will be holding tonight and their excitement for their upcoming Pride Day celebration.
They hope to see as many attendees as they had last year, which saw so many people that there was only standing room available. The event will transpire over several hours, ending at around 11 p.m. to midnight, with a large performance at 8 p.m.
They promise a plethora of fun events and great food throughout the day, with a special meet and greet at 4:30 with Thee Suburbia and Ella Fartzgerald, performers all the way from New York City. White, who has been performing for over 40 years, and in Jamestown since 1991, will be performing with the two on Sunday, June 9th, at the Rose and Grace Studio, located at 316 Cherry Street, Suite 105, Jamestown NY, beginning at 12:15 p.m. The event, a fundraiser for the LGBTQ community, charges a $50 commission.

Romeo White, the Communications Assistant and Fundraising Director for the organization, detailed how he became involved with the organization, first becoming involved 2 years ago when he noticed they were looking for volunteers.
He then expressed his excitement for the upcoming event on Saturday, urging viewers to come by and see what the organization is like, noting that they are a judgement-free zone.

Danni White talked about how the event is great for self-expression and meeting new people, reaffirming the welcoming atmosphere and wonderful people.

Jewel White, a performer for 9 years, spoke on what a transformational journey performing has been, and how much it has helped her build up self-confidence and self-esteem. Having wandered from various places, Jewel noted that the Knights have been the most welcoming and accepting group that she has come across.

Nicholas Desnerck aka Black Jack, a straight performer and the only straight member of the cast, noted how his participation might come as a surprise to viewers, who don’t expect performers like him. He discussed his love of performing, and how many people look forward to his performances due to the energy that he brings to his performances, the crowd, and the atmosphere.

The Knights of Enchanted Dreams also wanted to highlight other events they hold for the community, such as feeding the homeless through their Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, as well as supplying them with clothing like coats, hats, and scarves. They also hold parties for major holidays, with a party for children as well as a party for adults.
They will be holding a raffle on Saturday, July 6th, with two drawings, each consisting of $150 worth of scratch off tickets. Tickets for the raffle cost $5.
Also on Saturday, July 6th at 7 PM, the organization will be holding a glow party, which will feature dancing, karaoke, a DJ, and a glow in the dark pool table. Admission to the event is $3.
On July 27th at 6 PM, the Knights will be holding their annual 50s themed sock hop event. Admission to the event is $5, with a $50 prize for the best costume.
Finally, the organization will be hosting a Chinese Auction from June 12th through June 22nd with a variety of prizes.
