A 23-year-old Jamestown resident faces multiple charges after police discovered four children living in areas contaminated by human and animal feces.
In the early hours of June 3, 2024, at approximately 3:53 AM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd platoon responded to a call on Jamestown’s west side to check on the well-being of a male subject. The situation quickly escalated into a serious domestic incident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Jeremy M. Rogers, a 23-year-old resident of Jamestown, severely intoxicated inside his residence. Along with Rogers, four juveniles were found living in alarming conditions. The children were reportedly sleeping in areas contaminated with human and animal feces, highlighting the dire state of their living environment.
Rogers was immediately taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail without further incident. He has been charged with four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Child Protection Services were promptly contacted and took part in the ongoing investigation. The severity of the situation also led to the Department of Development condemning Rogers’ apartment, deeming it unfit for habitation.
Rogers is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
