(WNY News Now) – Portland – A late-night disturbance in Portland, NY, has resulted in the arrest of a local man on multiple charges.

In the early hours of July 3, 2024, at approximately 1:18 AM, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported altercation in the Town of Portland, NY. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Joshua J. Dash, 44, at the scene.

Following a prompt investigation, authorities determined that Dash had harassed another individual in the presence of a child. As a result, Dash was taken into custody and charged with several offenses, including criminal contempt in the 2nd degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment in the 2nd degree.

Dash was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, where he awaits arraignment through the centralized arraignment program. He is scheduled to appear in Portland Town Court at a later date to address these charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, Dash is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
