(WNY News Now) – Lakewood – A routine patrol led to the arrest of Jacob C. Sandy on East Fairmount Avenue, where officers discovered methamphetamine in his possession.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 8:04 PM, a Lakewood-Busti Police Officer conducted a street check on East Fairmount Avenue in the Village of Lakewood, NY. The officer identified Jacob C. Sandy, a 26-year-old homeless man, who was known to have an outstanding warrant from the Ellicott Police Department.

During the investigation, Sandy was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Consequently, he was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, in violation of New York Penal Law 220.03. Sandy was subsequently handed over to the Ellicott Police Department for further processing.

Sandy’s case will be heard in the Town of Busti Court, where he will face the charges brought against him. As are all persons accused of a crime, Sandy is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
