(WNY News Now) – Syracuse, NY – A late-night altercation on July 3rd turned violent as Syracuse Police responded to a triple stabbing on Girard Avenue, leaving the community in shock.

Around 10:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Girard Avenue following reports of a fight. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims, a male and a female, with apparent stab wounds outside the residence. A third male victim was found inside the home, also suffering from stab wounds.

All three victims were transported to Upstate University Hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators have determined that Alfred Clanton III, one of the male victims, initiated the incident. Clanton, 35, has been charged with Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

The Syracuse Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222. As are all persons accused of a crime, Clanton is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
