(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – A late-night shooting on Fitch Street left a man injured, prompting an active investigation by Syracuse Police.

On Tuesday, July 9th, around 10:16 p.m., Syracuse Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting with injuries in the 100 block of Fitch Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple shell casings scattered across the scene, indicating a violent encounter had taken place.

Simultaneously, an adult male arrived at Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. Medical professionals have stated that the victim is expected to survive.

The Syracuse Police Department has launched an active investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in solving this case.
