(WNY News Now) – Syracuse, NY — The Syracuse Police Department has launched an urgent appeal for information following a fatal hit and run incident that claimed the life of 35-year-old Shane Jackson. Jackson succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision, prompting a city-wide search for the vehicle involved.

On Friday, July 5th, at approximately 9:24 p.m., Syracuse Police Officers responded to reports of a hit and run collision at the 100 block of West Court Street. Upon arrival, officers found Shane Jackson, an adult male resident of Syracuse, critically injured. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to University Hospital, Jackson tragically passed away due to his injuries.

Suspected Vehicle

Authorities are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle connected to the incident, as depicted in released images.
