(WNY News Now) – Westfield, NY – Today Friday, July 12, from 4 PM to 8 PM, Route 20 (East Main Street) in Westfield will be temporarily closed to traffic between Portage (Route 394) and Union Street, with limited traffic from Union to Pearl Street, due to the First Friday event.
Coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce, First Friday aims to create a vibrant, safe space for community interaction and enjoyment. The event is sponsored by local businesses and organizations, including Larson Design Group, Kiwanis Club of Westfield, AHN Westfield Memorial Hospital, Westfield Boatworks, Community Bank, Mason Funeral Home, California Dreamin’, and CJ’s Pizza.
The State Department of Transportation has granted the street closure permit to enhance safety for all attendees. Detours will be clearly posted to facilitate smooth traffic flow around the closed area.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and enjoy the festivities, which include local food vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities. The closure ensures a pedestrian-friendly environment, reducing risks associated with vehicle traffic.
