(WNY News Now) – A Deltona woman faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing a property damage accident and driving under the influence in Chautauqua County.

On July 5, 2024, at approximately 3:34 PM, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident near the Kwik Fill gas station on Route 5 and 20. Before the deputies arrived, one of the drivers fled the scene, heading southbound on Alleghany Road.

Deputies quickly located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Hanover Road. The driver, identified as 51-year-old Amy R. Bauchle of Deltona, Florida, was found to be driving while intoxicated. Following their investigation, deputies arrested Bauchle and charged her with DWI, DWI Per Se, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Bauchle was released with tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hanover court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
