(WNY News Now) – A routine street check led to the arrest of Michael A. Green, a 33-year-old Jamestown resident, for outstanding warrants and new charges involving drugs and weapons.

On July 15, 2024, at approximately 12:09 PM, Jamestown police officers conducted a street check at 1 W 6th St. The officers identified Michael A. Green, a local resident known to have outstanding warrants. Green was taken into custody without incident.

During the subsequent investigation, Green was found in possession of methamphetamine, a Levorphanol Tartrate pill, and an expandable baton, which is illegal in New York State. As a result, Green faces additional charges: two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

Green was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
