(WNY News Now) – Dayton – Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb reported an arrest incident involving Duane A. Walter, 37, of Hinsdale, NY, who was apprehended on July 13, 2024, following a welfare check by deputies on RT 62 in Dayton.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were conducting routine patrols along RT 62 in Dayton when they encountered Duane A. Walter walking in the area. Upon checking his welfare, it was discovered that Walter had multiple outstanding warrants issued by the City of Olean Court. The warrants were promptly confirmed, leading to Walter’s arrest at 4:45 PM on July 13, 2024.
Walter was taken into custody without incident and subsequently transferred to the custody of the Olean City Police Department. He was later released on recognizance pending further court proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
