(WNY News Now) – Emmanuel Jenkins, 38, convicted of attempted rape, robbery, assault, and weapon possession, faces an extended prison term following sentencing by Honorable Melissa Lightcap Cianfrini on July 17, 2024.

Emmanuel Jenkins, already serving a lengthy sentence for predatory sexual assault, received further convictions for attempted rape in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. The sentencing by Honorable Melissa Lightcap Cianfrini on July 17, 2024, resulted in a combined prison term, including 15 years each for attempted rape and robbery, 5 years for assault, and 2 to 4 years for weapon possession. These sentences will run concurrently but consecutively to Jenkins’s existing 15-year-to-life term.

Jenkins committed these crimes while incarcerated at Attica Correctional Facility, targeting a civilian employee. Vincent A. Hemming, Acting District Attorney, expressed strong opposition to leniency, citing Jenkins’s history as a serial rapist and advocating for the maximum allowable sentence. Assistant District Attorney Chelsie Hamilton prosecuted the case, while Marshall Kelly, Esq. represented Jenkins.
