(WNY News Now) – SYRACUSE, NY – A 17-year-old male walked into University Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left hand, prompting an active police investigation.
On Saturday, July 20, 2024, at approximately 9:47 p.m., uniformed officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded to University Hospital at 750 East Adams Street. The officers found the teenage victim in the emergency room, suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by gunfire. The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening.
The incident reportedly occurred in the 200 block of Sabine Street. The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating the case.
