(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – In the early hours of Sunday, a 13-year-old boy was shot near the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, sparking community concern and police investigation.

Buffalo police responded to a call just before 2 a.m. reporting that a teenager had arrived at Buffalo General Hospital in a civilian vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. According to a Buffalo police spokesperson, the boy was struck by gunfire near the corner of Main and High streets.

Upon arrival at Buffalo General, the boy was quickly transferred to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where he was taken into surgery. As of now, police have not provided an update on the boy’s condition.
