Jamestown Resident Faces Serious Charges Following Early Morning Chase

(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – On July 28, 2024, at approximately 12:48 AM, a high-speed vehicle pursuit in Jamestown resulted in the arrest of Nicholas C. Brown, a 34-year-old resident. Brown faces multiple charges, including Reckless Endangerment and Unlawful Fleeing from Police.

Jamestown Police officers observed a vehicle committing numerous traffic infractions near E 8th St. and Lakeview Ave. When they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver, later identified as Brown, accelerated away, initiating a prolonged chase. During the pursuit, Brown nearly struck multiple police officers with his vehicle.

The chase concluded when Brown collided with a marked New York State Trooper vehicle, an unrelated parked vehicle, and then head-on with a Jamestown Patrol vehicle. Brown resisted arrest and engaged in a brief struggle with officers before being taken into custody.

Brown is charged with three counts of Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Fleeing from Police in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree. He is currently held without bail at the Chautauqua County Jail due to his prior criminal history, pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
