(WNY News Now) – Mayville – In a late-night operation, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westfield man for driving while intoxicated on a recreational vehicle in the Village of Mayville.

On July 28, 2024, at approximately 3:06 AM, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a recreational vehicle traveling along a public highway in the Village of Mayville. The driver, identified as Michael J. Trippy, 38, of Westfield, NY, was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

During the investigation, it was also discovered that the vehicle was unregistered. Trippy was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Following the arrest, Trippy was released with appearance tickets for the Town of Chautauqua Court, where he will face the charges at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
