Salamanca Woman Charged Following Altercation with Lifeguard

(WNY News Now) – Cold Spring – Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb reported a harassment incident occurring on July 4, 2024, at the High Banks Campground pool in Cold Spring, NY. At approximately 6:10 AM, authorities responded to a physical altercation between Shanelle Mohawk, 37, of Salamanca, NY, and a lifeguard at the campground.

Following an investigation, Mohawk was arrested for Harassment in the Second Degree under NYS Penal Law 240.26(1). It was determined that Mohawk had physically harassed the lifeguard during the altercation. She was subsequently issued an Appearance Ticket for Cold Spring Town Court in late August. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
