(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – Jamestown’s streets will come alive on August 9 with the return of the 31st annual Cruise-In, featuring vintage cars, live music, and local business support.

Jamestown’s downtown will transform into a vibrant showcase of automotive history on Friday, August 9, from 5-9pm as the 31st annual Cruise-In returns. Car enthusiasts and the community will gather to admire a diverse array of hot rods, classic cars, and elegant autos from various eras.

This popular event, organized by the CHQ Chamber Committee, aims to attract foot traffic to downtown Jamestown, encouraging attendees to explore and support locally owned restaurants and businesses. “Our focus is on encouraging people to support local business,” said Chamber Coordinator Carrie Swanson. “When we draw visitors to downtown Jamestown, we have seen that sales at local restaurants and retailers increase.”

In addition to the stunning vehicles, the event will feature live music from the local band In Crowd, who will play a lively mix of oldies and contemporary tunes, creating a festive atmosphere for all attendees.

A highlight of the evening will be the People’s Choice Award text contest, allowing spectators to vote for their favorite car. Both a winning driver and a voter will receive a $50 ShopLocalCHQ Gift Card.

Der Kobbler’s auto club’s ongoing partnership is vital to the event’s success. “Their participation is crucial to the success of this event.” Swanson added. “We hope you’ll check out their vehicles and all the others that attend.”

The Cruise-In will span Third Street between Spring and Washington Streets, including Pine, Main, and Cherry Streets between Second and Fourth. Streets will close at 3pm, and participants are asked to enter between 3 and 5pm at Third and Spring. The entry fee is $10 per vehicle, with advance registration available online until 9am on August 9.
