(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – A 15-year-old male remains in critical condition after being shot in the head in Syracuse. The incident, initially reported with an unknown location, has been confirmed to have occurred in the 200 block of Westmoreland Avenue, near East Fayette Street.

The shooting occurred on Monday, August 12th, around 10:58 p.m. Syracuse Police Officers were alerted to the situation when the victim was dropped off at Upstate University Hospital by a private vehicle. Despite medical efforts, the juvenile’s condition remains dire.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Syracuse Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is urging anyone with information to come forward by calling (315) 442-5222.
