(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – Syracuse Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Tuesday night on South Salina Street.

On Tuesday, August 13th, around 11:59 p.m., Syracuse Police responded to a report of a shooting with injuries in the 4100 block of South Salina Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 25-year-old man had been transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital by a private vehicle before their arrival.

The victim was found to have sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and shoulder. Despite the efforts of medical staff to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
