(WNY News Now) – As SUNY Plattsburgh gears up for its 135th academic year, students are set to return to campus, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their educational journey.
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Aug. 14, 2024) — SUNY Plattsburgh is preparing for the return of students for the Fall 2024 semester, with classes starting on Monday, Aug. 26. First-year students will arrive on Wednesday, Aug. 21, checking in at the field house on Rugar Street in staggered time slots based on last name, while returning students are scheduled to move into their residence halls on Saturday, Aug. 24.
To manage the influx of new arrivals, Rugar Street will operate as a one-way street on Aug. 21, with University Police on-site to assist with traffic flow. A variety of events, including a welcome week picnic, movie night, and silent disco, are planned to help students settle in and connect with the campus community.
The university’s commitment to creating a vibrant campus life is evident in the more than 100 activities and events scheduled from Aug. 21 to 25, offering students ample opportunities to engage, explore, and enjoy their college experience.
