(WNY News Now) – Olean Town – Early morning hours on August 17th saw a young driver from Salamanca arrested for driving while intoxicated following a crash into a guard rail on Interstate 86.
On August 17, 2024, at approximately 2:11 a.m., deputies responded to a vehicle collision on the Interstate 86 on-ramp in Olean Town. The vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Austin N. Maybee of Salamanca, NY, had crashed into a guard rail.
Upon arrival, deputies conducted an investigation and determined that Maybee was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. As a result, Maybee was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and subsequently released with appearance tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Olean Town Court at a later date to address the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
