(WNY News Now) – Little Valley – Cattaraugus County Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb reported an arrest following a drug investigation at the Cattaraugus County Jail in Little Valley, NY. On August 20, 2024, at approximately 4:35 AM, Justin T. Spencer, a 45-year-old resident of Olean, NY, was taken into custody after being discovered in possession of fentanyl while detained on unrelated charges.

Spencer faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and Promoting Prison Contraband in the first degree. The incident underscores the ongoing challenge of preventing dangerous substances from entering correctional facilities. Spencer was processed and released with an appearance ticket, directing him to return to the Little Valley Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
