(WNY News Now) – Wheatfield – An off-road dirt bike accident in Wheatfield left a rider with severe injuries, prompting an urgent airlift to Erie County Medical Center.
On August 29, 2024, at approximately 12:05 PM, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding an off-road vehicle accident in the 2400 block of Lockport Road in the Town of Wheatfield. The call reported a male rider who had crashed his dirt bike, resulting in significant injuries.
Deputies arrived swiftly on the scene and provided immediate assistance to the injured rider, who was found with an open fracture to his right arm. Emergency medical services, including personnel from the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Company, Bergholz Volunteer Fire Company, and Niagara County EMS, were quickly dispatched to the site.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the decision was made to airlift the victim via Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center for further treatment.
