(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A Jamestown man faces charges after allegedly violating a court-issued order of protection within days of its issuance.

On August 30, 2024, at approximately 6:18 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a report of an order of protection violation on the city’s west side. The investigation led to the arrest of 45-year-old Jeremy M. Ramsey, who was found to be in direct violation of an order of protection issued just five days earlier.

The order, intended to keep Ramsey away from a female victim, was reportedly disregarded, prompting immediate police action. Ramsey was taken into custody at the scene and subsequently transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He now faces charges of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
