(WNY News Now) – Pomfret – An early morning vehicle check by Chautauqua County deputies resulted in the arrest of a Depew woman for aggravated DWI.

In the early hours of September 1, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious vehicle parked on the shoulder of Frisbee Road in the Town of Pomfret. Upon arriving, deputies observed an altercation between the vehicle’s occupants.

During their investigation, deputies identified the driver as 25-year-old Aimee E. White of Depew, New York. It was determined that White was operating the vehicle while intoxicated, with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) exceeding the legal limit of .08%.

White was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a more severe charge due to her elevated BAC level. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date to face these charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
