(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A Jamestown man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly violating a protection order and assaulting a woman during a domestic dispute.

On September 8, 2024, at approximately 9:06 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a domestic incident on the west side of the city. Upon arrival, officers learned that 33-year-old Leandro M. Weidner had kicked a female victim in the chest. The victim was the protected party in an active order of protection against Weidner.

Weidner was still at the scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without further incident. He has been charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree for violating the protection order and Harassment in the 2nd degree for the assault.

Weidner is currently being held in the Jamestown City Jail and is awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
