(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – A Syracuse man faces multiple charges after allegedly stabbing a woman during a domestic dispute in front of children.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at approximately 11:27 p.m., Syracuse police responded to a domestic stabbing incident at a residence in the 1800 block of E. Fayette Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound to the shoulder. She was immediately transported to Upstate Hospital, where she is expected to recover.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Bryan Washington, fled the scene before authorities arrived. However, he was located and apprehended shortly after. Investigations revealed that Washington stabbed the woman during a domestic argument. Several children were present in the home and witnessed the violent incident but were unharmed.

Washington now faces several charges, including Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Criminal Contempt in the First Degree. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
