(WNY News Now) – Ripley – A 31-year-old Ripley man was arrested following a tense early-morning altercation, resulting in charges of criminal mischief and child endangerment.
In the early hours of September 20, 2024, officers from the Sheriff’s Office and Westfield Police Department responded to a call regarding an altercation at a residence on Pigeon Road in Ripley, NY. Upon arrival, law enforcement interviewed the involved parties and discovered that a male resident, identified as 31-year-old Ryan M. Deland, had allegedly caused damage to the property of another individual within the home.
Further investigation into the incident revealed that Deland’s actions also posed a threat to the welfare of a child present at the residence. Deland was subsequently arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Following his arrest, Deland was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing before being booked into the county jail. He is awaiting centralized arraignment in the Town of Westfield Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
