(WNY News Now) – Hinsdale – A 20-year-old registered Level 3 sex offender has been arrested after failing to comply with New York State’s registration requirements.

On September 26, 2024, at 1:45 p.m., an investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau led to the arrest of Alexavier J. Morgan, a 20-year-old from Little Valley, New York, for failure to register his updated email addresses with the New York State Sex Offender Registry. Morgan, a registered Level 3 sex offender, is alleged to have used two unregistered email addresses, which were discovered by his parole officer during a routine check.

Under New York law, sex offenders are required to update their personal information, including email addresses, within 10 days of any change. Morgan’s failure to comply with this mandate prompted the issuance of an arrest for one count of Failure to Register. Following his arrest, Morgan was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Hinsdale Town Court on a yet-to-be-determined date.
