(WNY News Now) – A routine warrant check led to the arrest of a Gowanda woman.

On September 24, 2024, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Cattaraugus County Sheriff Eric A. Butler reported the arrest of 34-year-old Stacey A. Scinta of Gowanda, NY. The arrest followed the issuance of a bench warrant, leading deputies to Torrance Place, where Scinta was taken into custody without incident.

Scinta was promptly transported to the Village of South Dayton Court for arraignment. She faced charges under New York’s CPL 530.70, which pertains to the enforcement of bench warrants. During her court appearance, Scinta was released on her own recognizance, with no bail set. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
