(WNY News Now) – A routine investigation by Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies led to the discovery of fentanyl and crack cocaine in a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of a 31-year-old woman in Salamanca.
On October 4, 2024, at approximately 4:08 a.m., deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a drug investigation at the Emerald Hills apartment complex on Eagle Street, Salamanca, when they came across Crystal Lore, 31, asleep behind the wheel of her Ford Escape in the complex’s parking lot. Lore was found with a bag of suspected fentanyl in her hand.
When deputies tapped Lore’s shoulder to check if she needed medical assistance, she awoke and attempted to hide the fentanyl beneath the driver’s seat. The deputies placed her under arrest, and a search of her vehicle and person uncovered 4.1 grams of fentanyl, 15.1 grams of crack cocaine, suboxone, prescription pills, narcotics packaging equipment, drug paraphernalia, and two digital scales.
Lore, a resident of Little Valley, NY, was transported to Salamanca City Court where she was held pending arraignment. She faces multiple charges, including two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
