(WNY News Now) – An evening traffic stop in the Town of Hanover led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Irving woman for driving while ability impaired by drugs and several traffic offenses.

On October 4, 2024, at approximately 6:45 p.m., deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on RT 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover. The driver, identified as 37-year-old Tara L. Forbes of Irving, NY, was found to be driving while her ability was impaired by drugs (DWAI).

Further investigation revealed that Forbes was also operating the vehicle with a suspended license, classified as an aggravated unlicensed operator in the 1st degree. In addition to the DWAI charge, she was cited for improper passing, making an improper turn without signaling, and unsafely moving from her lane.

Forbes was arrested at the scene and later released with appearance tickets for Hanover Town Court, where she is scheduled to face the charges at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
