(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man was arrested after police discovered him trespassing in a condemned home, surrounded by unsanitary conditions and complaints from nearby neighbors.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On the evening of October 7, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a report of trespassing at a condemned property on the city’s south side. Upon arrival, they encountered 47-year-old Nicholas G. Sicurella Sr. unlawfully residing in the home.
Sicurella was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree. While officers secured the premises, they uncovered significant health concerns, noting the overwhelming stench of animal feces and urine. The filth was widespread, with animal waste and insects scattered throughout the residence.
Neighbors had complained about the odor emanating from the property, which was strong enough to reach nearby homes. The investigation revealed that Sicurella had been living in the condemned residence for some time, allowing his dog to defecate without cleaning up.
In addition to the trespassing charge, Sicurella was issued a Quality of Life City Code summons for creating unsanitary conditions under Jamestown’s Section 219-3 (A). After processing, Sicurella was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
