(WNY News Now) – On Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m., the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts will present a captivating screening of the silent horror classic Nosferatu (1922), accompanied by the ethereal sounds of Radiohead’s acclaimed albums KID A and Amnesiac.
Jamestown, N.Y. – Nosferatu with Radiohead: A Silents Synced Film (Wed., Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.) is a screening of the classic 1922 silent horror film underscored by Radiohead’s KID A and Amnesiac albums. Two years after a (now lost) version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Jekyll and Hyde story called Der Januskopf, F.W. Murnau turned to another giant of Gothic literature: Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Unlike the suave, moustachioed count of Stoker’s novel, Murnau’s Count Orlok is immortally embodied by actor Max Shreck as a bald and bulbous ghoul whose emaciated fingers cast fearful, flickering shadows.
Nosferatu with Radioheadis unrated and is 90 minutes long.
Upcoming Movies at The Reg include Hunter Schafer in the horror film Cuckoo (Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.), a special engagement of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Oct. 25 at 10 p.m.), Michael Keaton’s return as the title character in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Wed., Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.), Jason Schwartzman and Carole Kane in the comedy Between the Temples (Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.), Kate Winslet as photographer and photojournalist Lee Miller in Lee (Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.) and a one-time-only special engagement of Cat Video Fest 2024 (Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.) with a portion of ticket proceeds benefiting Chautauqua County Humane Society.
