(WNY News Now) – A routine street check in Ellicott led to the arrest of a Jamestown man wanted in Pennsylvania.

Ellicott, N.Y. – On October 14th, Aaron M. Albaugh, 40, of Jamestown, was arrested by Town of Ellicott Police after a street check revealed he was wanted as a fugitive from justice. Officers discovered that Albaugh had an outstanding warrant from Warren, Pennsylvania, confirmed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. When Ellicott police attempted to take him into custody, Albaugh resisted arrest. Despite his resistance, officers were able to subdue him and complete the arrest.

Albaugh was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment and will face charges of resisting arrest and being a fugitive from justice. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
