(WNY News Now) – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announced the arrests of two men following multiple search warrant executions on October 14th and 15th. The operations led to the seizure of substantial quantities of narcotics, firearms, and cash.

Buffalo, N.Y. – On October 14th, Christian Burgos-Ramos, 35, of Buffalo, was apprehended after the Erie County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) Narcotics and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at his residence. The warrant, signed by Buffalo City Court Judge Samuel Davis, was executed shortly after Burgos-Ramos was stopped while driving a Mercury sedan.

During the search of the residence, authorities discovered approximately ¾ of a kilogram of cocaine along with various drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search conducted at 258 Langfield Drive at around 4:17 p.m. revealed additional contraband, including a loaded Glock handgun, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and an estimated $20,000 in cash. Three minors were present at the location, raising concerns about their safety and access to the illegal items.

Burgos-Ramos faces multiple charges, including:

  • 1st Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • 3rd Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
  • 4th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • 2nd Degree Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (4 counts)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3 counts)
  • 3rd Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Infractions

In a separate incident on October 15th, Joseph Krempa, 41, of Amherst, was arrested following a search warrant execution at his residence. The warrant was authorized by State Supreme Court Judge William Boller and involved collaboration between the ECSO, Buffalo Police Department, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

During the search at approximately 5:00 p.m., law enforcement uncovered suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine, 14 high-capacity ammunition feeding devices, and 11 firearms. A minor was also found in the home, with potential access to the dangerous substances and weapons.

Krempa is charged with:

  • 1st Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon
  • 2nd Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon (11 counts)
  • 3rd Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon (15 counts)
  • 2nd Degree Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia
  • 7th Degree Criminal Use of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • 3rd Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation

“Our Narcotics and Intelligence Unit continues to do important work clearing Buffalo’s streets of poisonous drugs and weapons,” said Sheriff Garcia. “I would like to thank the Buffalo Police Department’s Intelligence Unit, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Cheektowaga Police Department’s Intelligence Unit and Erie Crime Analysis Center for their partnership in these investigations.”

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
